‘Mad Max’ Returns In The First Trailer For ‘Fury Road’ [VIDEO]
In another Comic-Con weekend exclusive, San Diego attendees were privy to the first look at the explosive return of Mad Max to the big screen in “Mad Max: Fury Road.”
Director George Miller is returning to the post-apocalyptic, oil-hungry world he established in the late 70s-early 80s trilogy, with actor Tom Hardy ( “Inception,” “Dark Knight Rises”) replacing Mel Gibson as the leading anti-hero.

“Of course it’s based on the same character that they’ll play, the lone warrior in the wasteland disengaged from the rest of the world,” Miller said during a press conference, according to The Verge.
The director described them film as ”almost a continuous chase.”
“But naturally Tom brings his Tom Hardy-ness to it, and the story is different to some degree. The character is different to some degree,” Miller said.
Charlize Theron will be backing up Hardy in ”Mad Max: Fury Road,” which hits theaters May 15, 2015.
